Meet the 3D2Y off island youth team;
In partnership with YOTA, we have assembled a multi-national team of young hams to participate in the upcoming 3D2Y DXpedition. These future DXpeditioners will have the thrill of experiencing the DXpedition pile-ups for the first time!
We can accommodate a few more young operators, if you are interested, please contact Kees W0AAE at [email protected] It will be great to have you onboard!
Fund raising for this exciting adventure continues, please visit our website at rotuma2024.com. 73, and hope to see you in the pile-ups. The 3D2Y team

DECEMBER IS Y.O.T.A. MONTH…
I received this from Blake KN4VKY who requested it be posted in our newsletter
Hello everyone,

Hope you’ve all had a wonderful year. Well, we are just over a month away from December! And do you know what that means? YOTA MONTH! If you don’t know what YOTA Month is, it is a special event during the entire month of December featuring stations all over the world that are specifically operated by youth, ages 25 and younger, in order to encourage young people to be active on the ham bands. In the U.S., we have four callsigns that are allotted to us for the duration of December for youth to use: K8Y, K8O, K8T, and W8A. All of the details surrounding the American side of the special event can be found at this link: https://youthontheair.org/yota-month-2023/ The international website for YOTA Month can be found here: https://events.ham-yota.com/

If you are interested, have a station (whether that be VHF/UHF, satellite, HF, or remotely operated), are 25 years old or younger, and have an American callsign (no matter your license class), please use this link to fill out to state that you are interested in operating: https://forms.gle/gim13NKoJ9Cuv12F8

Please share this form with as many other youth as possible and help be ambassadors for YOTA Month!! Even if you are not sure you want to operate, but still want to be informed about the activities surrounding YOTA Month 2024, please still fill out the form! I will send out the schedules for K8Y, K8O, K8T, and W8A over the coming weeks so all of the operators can sign up for the times that work the best for them.

My brother Ryan (KN4VKW), Kees (W0AAE), and I will be the coordinators for YOTA Month in the U.S. this year. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out directly via our QRZ page emails or you can reach out to us at [email protected]

Thanks so much, and I hope to see many of you sign up for YOTA Month 2024!

Blake KN4VKY
