NET REVIEW… 9 check ins with these youth ops: KE2EVX, KJ5EWP, KJ7AGQ, KJ7MPQ i/o, KN6ULC. Also joining the net were
KE2AVB i/o, K3TEL, KC3CDU, KA4RCV.
Still looking for more check ins. Can we bring our numbers up a bit? My goal is to reach at least 10 for our evening chats.
CHAT SESSIONS… Monday: More productive session with total of 8 checkins. Youth included: WB9LEM new member, KF8CZF, KJ7AGQ, KE2EVX. Also participating, KS8O, K3TEL, AD3I, KC3CDU. A good qso ensued following the chat with KE2EVX and WB9LEM on subject of pizza. Definitely an improvement over last week’s sessions, but we can still do better and show more YACHT radio friendship and activity. Question of the evening was answered by all and provided an air of added enjoyment. More fun stuff ahead including times of YACHT youth actually running as net control. Stay with us and enjoy the future of ham radio.
Tuesday: 7 stations connected including youth ops, KE2EVX, KE8ZYD, KI8AN, along with K3TEL, K5NO, KC3DCU, K8LK
Question for Wed session: Type of ham radio gear you use.
Try and check in and, if you wish, respond to the question. I would like to see more of you connect up and demonstrate your ham radio and YACHT support. Give our chat sessions and youth net a great end of 2025 image. With your interest and support, it can be done. Thanks…
*** YACHT SESSION IMPROVEMENT… I would like to see greater participation in our evening chats and Sat. youth net so let’s give it some additional features. A question each day would be a nice start. Do you have other ideas? Let me or John KJ7AGQ know via our website. Read the website link to begin. I want the YACHT radio sessions to show you as an outstanding ham radio operator.
This week questions: Monday-your favorite food; Tuesday–favorite or most enjoyable school subject; Wednesday–type of ham radio gear you have; Thursday–farthest qso you have made; Friday– like to do in spare time; Saturday– favorite movie or TV show
*Give me some additional thoughts for future sessions. All will be appreciated and considered for future sessions. Let’s liven up the YACHT image and show our high level of operation within the amateur radio program. You are all great promoters of youth in ham radio.
+ would also like to see more YACHT Youth members involved in net N.C. operation. If you are interested, let me know and I can schedule you in for a session. Remember this is all for you, our young hams, so let’s give it an improved “youth touch.” Thanks for your interest and support.

Here is John KJ7AGQ email to me….
” Hi Ed,
I have created the YACHT Youth Engagement Survey and have added it to the website. There is a button at the top of the home page, but you could also include the following link on Facebook and the newsletter:
https://yachtyouth.net/survey/
Also, if there is anything else you would like to see on the survey or anything that should be changed, please let me know.
To see all the questions without actually filling out the survey, you can just check some boxes on the required questions on the first 3 pages, just don’t click the submit button on the 4th page.
(Editor’s note: Please DO click the submit button after filling out the answers in the form, the previous statement is just for viewing the questions.)
