NET REVIEW… Saturday, September 12 had a strong group of 13 check ins. Youth ops: KJ7AGQ, KD3DSV, KC3RAP, KE9FXQ, KI8AN, KJ5NVM, KE9EKF, KI5KGE and KJ5EWP. Also aboard were AG5QU, KA4RCV, K3TEL and VU2MDA.

It was great to have another strong group on the Saturday Youth Net and to hear so many of our youth operators participating. Let’s keep encouraging our young hams to check in each Saturday and help keep the YACHT Youth Net active.

CHAT SESSIONS… Thursday, September 10 had 7 ops. Youth ops: KJ7AGQ, KE2EVX, KJ5NVM, KE9EKF and KI8AN. Also aboard were K3TEL and VU2MDA.

Friday, September 11 had 5 ops. Youth ops: KJ7AGQ, KC3RAP and KE2EVX. Also aboard were VU2MDA and K3TEL.

Monday, September 14 had 3 ops. Youth ops: KJ7AGQ and KJ5NVM. Also aboard was K3TEL.

Tuesday, September 15 had 4 ops. Youth ops: KJ7AGQ, W8ZLM, KJ5NVM and KI8AN.

Wednesday, September 16 had 6 ops. Youth ops: KJ7AGQ, KC3RAP and KJ5NVM. Also aboard were K3TEL, Daniel KC5LUR (Johnathan KJ5NVM’s dad) and KC3CDU.

Thanks to everyone who checked in and supported our youth operators. We had some very good youth participation during the past week. Even stopping by for a minute or two helps keep YACHT active and gives our young operators more opportunities to get on the air and visit with other hams.

NEW YACHT MEMBERS… Please welcome our newest YACHT members: Kylee Shirbroun K0KYL and Vaseegaran Anand KD3DSV.

Vaseegaran KD3DSV already joined us for the September 12 Saturday Youth Net. We hope to hear Kylee K0KYL on the air soon as well. Give both of our newest members a warm YACHT welcome when you hear them.

YOUTH NET CONTROL OPPORTUNITIES… A reminder that John KJ7AGQ will not be available to run the Tuesday and Thursday chat sessions beginning September 22, 2026. We are looking for other youth operators who would like to take a turn as Net Control.

Running Net Control is a great way to gain experience, build confidence and help keep YACHT active. You do not need to be an experienced Net Control operator to give it a try. We will be happy to help you along the way.

A Google Calendar Net Control signup schedule is available on the YACHT website. You can view the schedule and sign up at:

https://yachtyouth.net/net-control-signup/

LOGGING YOUR NET CHECK INS… Submitting your check ins after serving as Net Control is easy. During the net, you can write the call signs on a piece of paper or type them into a text editor such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word or Notepad. When the net is finished, simply copy and paste or type the call signs into the Net Control Log Google form.

You can also enter the call signs directly into the form while the net is taking place if that is easier for you.

The Net Control Log form is available at:

https://yachtyouth.net/net-control-log/

We would especially like to see more of our youth members step forward and give Net Control a try. Helping with even one session makes a difference and gives everyone a chance to help keep YACHT going strong.
